Modi and Mand. Dr. Wolochatiuk reviewed chemical and electrical burns, and Dr. Lane and Lang reviewed the diagnosis and management of proctitis in their CPC. Dr. Humphries presented some fantastic cases of zebra diagnoses in the ED. Lastly, Dr. Soria concluded with her inquisitive thoughts from over the years.

Dr. Carleton started with a discussion of a tachycardia-inducing failed airway requiring cricothyrotomy. Drs. Jensen and Makinen presented a very detailed review of the literature and their proposed algorithm on infective endocarditis. Dr. Harty reviews a fascinating case of cecal volvulus that was identified early with the aid of a RUSH exam, while Dr. Liebman walked us through an approach to the patient with inhalation injuries. Finally, Dr. Roblee led an excellent review of SBP. The discussion was full of information you might use on your next shift!

The combined EM-Neuro conference provided a lively discussion on Guillain-Barre syndrome. The quarterly operations update was followed by a detailed discussion on esophagitis management in the ED. Finally, the pediatric fellows led a series of case discussions on a variety of devastating pediatric illness.

We then heard a debate on the use of D-Dimer in the diagnosis of aortic dissection. Finally, we were led through a simulation of a sick GI bleed requiring Minnesota tube placement, and we discussed optimal management of these challenging patients.
